Chinese Australian Early Childhood Centre (CAECC)

The CAECC offers quality long day-care in a bilingual (Mandarin/English) environment.  This unique multicultural centre provides childcare for babies through to preschool aged children. A full preschool program is available. 

The philosophy of the Centre is to:

• Provide quality childcare in a bilingual (Mandarin and English) and multicultural environment where children want and love to learn.
• Create an atmosphere in which children feel confident, secure and accepted.
• Encourage and develop social interaction, self-esteem and individuality.
• Offer a bilingual program that takes account of children’s individual needs, developmental rates and interests.
• Embrace an ethos of ‘children–before–profit’ and actively engage parents and the community in decisions about the care of their children.
• Be aware of and cater for the wide variety of cultural backgrounds and special needs within our Centre’s community.
• Provide a place where family members, children, and staff are treated as equal and valued individuals.
• Acknowledge the importance of play in Early Childhood  

The CAECC is situated on Ainsworth Street in Mawson, adjacent to Mawson Primary School in the Woden Valley.  It operates from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm fifty weeks of the year (it is closed for two weeks over the Christmas period and all public holidays observed in the ACT).
